Ælder is located on Orcas Island in the village of Eastsound at the address of 460 Main Street. We share an address and a bathroom with our older sister restaurant, Hogstone.
Our menus are mostly comprised of vegetables, some fish and very little meat. All meat and fish are sourced locally and meat most often comes from our farm. With that said, our menu is very often pescatarian, free of gluten (with the exception of the pizza course) and light on the dairy. We can accommodate some dietary restrictions with advance notice. If you would like a vegetarian or pescatarian menu you must first contact the restaurant before making your reservation. We take allergies very seriously, please inform us of them in advance.
We allow one bottle that is not on our list and will gladly open it for you for a fee of $35.
Due to the seasonal nature of our island economy our hours change throughout the year to reflect demand. Please check our website and Tock page for our current hours.
Absolutely. When space is available we offer our 4 course menu to walk-ins. Our 7 course may also be available, depending on time and availability of product.

ÆLDER is an ongoing investigation into the terroir of the Pacific Northwest islands. We offer three set tasting menus that explore our region and change as the Island and our farm dictate. Ælder happens 4 nights a week in the dining room at 460 Main Street.
